Memory Patterns
A young social worker is asked to go to an Assisted Living Complex and test the memory patterns of several of the elderly citizens. This consisted of asking simple questions ending with, "Do you know what 3 x 5 is?"
The young lady asks Mrs. Taylor the questions ending with, "Do you know what 3 x 5 is?"
Mrs. Taylor responds, "Of course Dear, it's 37!"
The social worker asks the next elderly gentleman, Mr. Stein the same questions to which he replies, "3 x 5 is...well of course....it's Thursday!"
The social worker asks her third subject Mrs. Novak, the same questions to which she replies, "You know young lady, I was a math teacher in my early years and of course, 3 x 5.... is 15!"
Surprised at the correct response, the social worker asks, "Well how did you arrive at that answer?
To which Mrs. Novak responds, "It was simple my dear, I subtracted 37 from Thursday!"
